Reversing the decision made 9 years ago. This feels fringe on subjectivity as stated in the above topic but might as well propose it. Uncanny valley of course is a real concept.

This pool just feels way too subjective to me and a bit "bashing of styles you don't like". Like post #2887540 was clearly uncanny enough for two people to state it in the comments and add it to the pool but it looks like a perfectly average anime style to me. I think it could work as a tag if it was only for images intended to be uncanny, like an offshoot of horror (theme), but I don't think it works as a tag as it is now.

I'll iterate that I'm not strong in favour or against converting back to a tag but I'll play the other side to make an argument for making it a tag.

I disagree with the "bashing of styles you don't like" sentiment here. For starters, we already have tags like bad anatomy, bad proportions, artistic error, engrish text etc... To my knowledge, those are very rarely ever weaponsied, if at all.

For the example you used with post #2887540, I don't think it overly matters since we have some pretty subjective tags already. Even the horror (theme) tag you mention later is subjective, as well as simple things like the infamous miku hair. Worst case scenario, the worst offenders can be gardened out but as long as the feel of the tag remains somewhat consistent then it should be fine.

You mention how it can work as an offshoot of horror (theme) but I don't think this works because intention can often be hard to figure out, especially with lack of or missing commentary. Artists also lie about their own stuff and what they say can be visually very different in the art they create.

If uncanny valley can't work as a tag then it can't work as a collection pool since we're phasing those out. The question would be whether this would work better as a future votable tag or if it should be nuked. My actual opinion would be that it should not be nuked as this is something I feel people might want to find.

Maybe the pool could work as a tag if only limited to intentional examples? The Uncanny Valley is absolutely something artists will shoot for on purpose occasionally. Though Idk, as this is very much one of the more subjective concepts that got pooled.

Agree the "uncanny valley" pool seems to largely just be a dumping ground of less than appealing realistic posts rather than a pool actually attempting to capture the feeling of the uncanny valley. Like post #1977839 post #2916844 post #571308, to post a few.

While there is stuff in here that genuinely falls into the uncanny valley for me like post #3372457 the majority of the pool doesn't. I do think this is a taggable concept, mainly as a subgenre of horror like suggested above, but I don't see a value in this pool being converted into the tag and think it should just be nuked.

pool:Fate/Grand_Order_-_Gacha_Spook. Basically a pool about being trolled or bait and switched by a gacha roll and pulling an unexpected character. Not sure if other gachas have the same concept. Similar to pool:Gacha_Suffering and pool:Blue_Archive_-_God_Damn_It_Arona!.

Being spooked by an off-rate character is a concept universal to pretty much all gacha games out there so this probably can be converted as a tag for spooks in general?

I think "spook" in not a fate-specific term as I've heard it being used in other gachas with indication of high rarity pull (i.e. pink envelope), or just generally for pulling an off-banner character.
