Is this taggable "v" or "w"? (thread renamed)

w covers that up nicely, so v isn't really needed in it. iirc, you could put the two if the other hand's doing it.

I see you have a point, and I even see that many (not all) images tagged w have exactly that gesture with only the thumb, index and middle fingers open.

I disagree with you, though: I don't think w covers that gesture nicely, because it is too easy to confuse it with v.

Those seem like weird names for tags... shouldn't it at least be w-gesture or v-fingers or something?

I don't think the tag name v is very bad, because — at least, to me — it is easy to understand and remember, after having quickly read the wiki.

On the other hand, I'm not sure what exactly w should represent, even with v serving as a major hint. We don't even have a wiki for w, just some tagged images.

That said, maybe an alternative name for v would be needed just to make it very clear, on sight. My suggestion: v sign. Compare with "sign language" and "signing" (as in communicating using a sign language) It is shorter than victory pose.

Alternative longer, more specific names:

Looks like just a case of bad tagging.

I don't see any problem with v or w.
There could be some merit in implicating w -> v, though I wouldn't personally do that.
There's also the similar \n/ and \m/.

Edit: On the topic though, looks like victory pose should be aliased to v as well.
