Just want to add my vote to put the +/- function back in. It was extremely useful and it's been pretty frustrating not having it. I don't even know what nested tags are or what they mean, so if it's a choice between the two of them I'd say get rid of nested and bring the +/- back.

I have a simple solution for the +/- function: Just add a mode which adds them back that can be quickly toggled on and off.
Alternatively you could make it so they could be toggled by shortcuts

  • They took too much space away from tags. The nested tags update would have made this even worse. Just turn the userscript on and look at some Honkai: Star Rail posts. It looks like this. It's a mess.

i am not sure but what about putting the +/- after the question mark instead of before the tag names?

Doesn't really make sense. It should be appended next to tags on the left side for visual clarity.
However, you can try to do it with script and tell how is it.

Topic "+/-"

I've been a Gold member for a hot minute, and would regularly use the "+/-" buttons. I haven't seen a usage number based on the amount of active gold accounts, but if a feature isn't being used it falls on the duty of the dev to make its useability known. Removing a premium feature that is actively available on it's contemporaries, for free I might add, is a bad sign of things to come. If it was causing a problem it should have been fixed behind the scenes and not made know until it was resolved.

I understand the difficulty and cost of running a site like this without a subscription, and I commend you for it. But the removal of standard features is how products die in the current age. Some will make up for the slack, and in this case, it's a common feature freely available elsewhere. I would rollback the removal and focus on it's rework.

I'm usually a lurker, but I couldn't just let this blow over without input. Thanks for reading.

I for one would rather have the nested stay, but I do like to have + returned, too. Can they not live together?

And call me crazy, but I honestly don't see an issue with that screenshot.

I see the mess: the nesting goes before the + -. Having all three ? + - aligned across tags would make it look neater, methinks.
It's prolly what flatrvte suggested, too.

This. Like, add granular checkbox toggle options for all 4(I believe?) options currently available there: [ ]? [ ]+ [ ]- [ ]nesting.
There's clearly split opinions about this, so having that granular checkbox toggle now would save that bit of space (in case for me the ? and -), while not affecting others' personal preference.

Can we add a function for translation requests that works like a ping/bump for untranslated posts to signify that a user particularly wants a post translated? I imagine it would be a option that works like appeal. This function should have a smaller limit like (0/3) and a longer processing time (maybe around 5 days or so) to not overwhelm our limited translators, and maybe be limited to posts that don't have loads of text. This would help favored untranslated posts stand out among the hundreds thousands of other requested posts.

I think that's basically what topic #7805 is for.

When the + feature was removed, I immediately noticed it. As some of my multiple tabs i have opened suddenly had the + missing if they were refreshed/newer. Naturally, I tried a few shortcuts to see if it was changed to something else. With no luck I tried a few days to see if i can get by without it. But alas the convenience of refining a search with just one click is just too hard not to miss.
