If you approve this then add uso_da, unlimited_blade_works, yukkuri_shiteitte_ne, etc. with they respective copyrights.

Unless the picture is from Death Note to begin with, in which case it doesn't have to be a parody, right?

Fair enough, do you have any others that should be done? I'll do the 4 mentioned in this thread.

As for implicating to parody, what about when they're being used within their own native copyrights? e.g., a Marisa/Reimu yukkuri. Or a Rena uso_da. [Edit: ok, RaisingK had the same idea]

But for now, someone correct me if I'm misdirecting any of these implications:

yukkuri_shiteitte_ne -> touhou
just_as_planned -> death_note
uso_da -> higurashi_no_naku_koro_ni
unlimited_blade_works -> fate_stay_night

I know the yukkuri meme started with Touhou characters, but do people searching for touhou want to see pictures like post #385697?
Yukkuri is not a parody of a scene from the original copyright, is it? I think it's more of a close association than an implication.

Well, that goes for most things touhou, really. I think you might have a valid point though.

Aah, true. Well, that's one problem with those aliases. If you set up an alias from meme to copyright, you end up with improperly tagged pictures, because they'll claim to be death_note and not death_note+parody. But if you set up the alias from meme to parody too, you end up mistagging pictures which are not parodies. What to do, what to do... why not do nothing?

It's less improperly tagged than incompletely tagged, and I don't think they're quite the same thing. It'd be like tagging the characters and copyrights on a cosplay image, but not including the actual cosplay tag. It's just something that needs to be added, but the other tags aren't wrong. As opposed to implicating a wrong tag, which is a bigger problem.

I'd guess it's a lot easier to figure out that post #383615 isn't *from* macross_frontier than to mistakenly have parody on post #297413.

That's true. But before someone suggests it, easy_mode shouldn't be aliased to iosys, because the iosys one is actually a parody of an unrelated manga.

I know what you and others meant, but remember, implication here, not alias. Not that I haven't made the mistake myself. I just don't want to get confused in the threads and proceed to make the mistake when actually doing the tag change, which could be a huge pain. I've almost done that before...

But yes, making sure the implications go to the right copyright is important, especially because undoing it would be a manual proces. That's why I haven't added any beyond the first batch yet. Thankfully, besides yukkuri, all the first batch were small and easily to reverse manually if I have to.

I'd like to settle zatchii's question first before moving on, as the same thing will apply to oyome_ni_shinasai, i.e. should it go to touhou or iosys (or both or neither)? I suppose the difference is that we have an iosys tag established already, while we don't have anything, I assume, for the origin of yukkuri. And iosys is much better known as the origin for those flashes than whatever yukkuri's origin is.

One other concern I just thought of, what if you only want to see just_as_planned from death note, or gununu from ichigo_mashimaro?

The process I would go through is search "meme -copyright" and add parody to everything. Then implicate meme->copyright and someone wanting to see the meme from the original copyright could search "meme -parody"

My mistake then. I think is better to add the implication to iosys in this case ("oyome..." is the name of the song).

What if you a have a death note character parodying the just as planned scene?

Why is it just as planned rather than keikaku doori?

I don't think that realistically this kind of alias is in line with what people are thinking when they're searching. For example, if I wanted to see images of ichigo mashimaro, I'd hardly want the results to be flooded with gununu. I think it's completely sufficient to just add a link to ichigo mashimaro in the wiki entry for gununu.

But that's just my opinion.
